How do we treat Rosacea and Sun Damage?
Dye-VL PRO effectively treats rosacea, telangiectasias or spider angiomas (single dilated blood vessels), port wine stains (tend to darken as a person ages), hemangiomas, sun-damaged skin, spider veins, and stretch marks that appear red in coloration. The pulsed dye laser produces a bright light that is absorbed by abnormal blood vessels which are destroyed without damaging the surrounding skin.
At Wilkes Rejuvenation MD, Dr. Simi Dev-Raman, is excited to offer this cutting-edge technology to her regimen of aesthetic skin and body care treatments in Wilkesboro, NC. Call us today to learn more about how Harmony Dye-VL PRO can give you a refreshed, youthful look.
How long is each treatment? How many treatments will I need?
Treatment sessions last up to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the lesion. Some lesions such as spider angiomas may require only 1 or 2 treatment sessions, while larger lesions such as port wine stains require 4 to 10 sessions.
Is the Dye-VL PRO Painful?
The Dye-VL PRO treatment feels like a small rubber band snapping against the skin, with a potential lingering burning sensation for up to 6 hours after the treatment session.
What should I do before treatment?
You should avoid direct exposure to the sun for 3 weeks prior to the treatment as well as photosensitive medications for up to 10 days. Sunburn and suntan may absorb the laser light and make the treatment less effective or increase the chance of adverse effects.
